POOLS
I can design any pool style you desire. Because I design both pools and landscapes, my outdoor environments flow naturally, incorporate usable space, and meet budget! From pool plaster to boulders in the landscape, all materials have a thought-out cohesion. I'll carefully walk you through the necessary decisions to settle on the perfect pool for you. I'll also bring my experience with master swimming, aqua aerobics, and pool ownership to our conversations.
I keep up to date with the newest pool technology. My plans meet state codes and abide by the standards of the Association of Pool and Spa Professionals. If you're interested in installation after the design phase, I provide estimates, create permit packets, and manage production in partnership with Geremia Pools and Landscaping, Inc.

Classic poolThe lines on this pool are completely classic, with straight lines and hard-cutting curves mirroring themselves. Classic pools were popular in the old Hollywood days, and one can imagine a starlet descending the elegant steps. The homeowner’s sculptures on the corner pillars complement the pool style beautifully. The exquisite surface treatments are a stone and glass tile mix. The informal landscape softens the formality of the pool. In addition to the pool, I designed the landscape and outdoor kitchen.

Free-form pool (Tara's)My own pool is a free-form shape that fits well in our triangular side yard. Apart from the beautiful stone decks laid by my husband and the fun tile on the large benches, this is a simple pool. The narrow planting beds around the pool become the focus. Because narrow beds like these often make plant layering difficult, I used tall pots to create beautiful vertical layering and added art objects for interest.

Natural poolThis client wanted a fully natural pool surrounded by rock—no concrete. The pool and spa are divided by a waterfall and bridge, which was a feat to build. All of the rock at the pool edge is partially submerged. Before building began, the client and I visited the rock yard to select the boulders, some of which are as large as 3 x 5 feet. The pool's gunite bowl was designed with different side shelves around the perimeter—created from custom templates—to accommodate the boulders. And yes, there's a plane on site!

Rectangular poolWhen I was brought in on this project, the house was under construction and the patio, made of Mexican pavers, was already laid. The client had not yet moved to town, and all communication was done from afar. Because Mexican pavers are not frost resistant, I needed to work with other pavings that mix well with these pavers. These photos reflect the color palette of the hardscape that was shown to the client. As all of my projects have a cohesive hardscape palette, I was able to create a planting plan that worked in harmony with the hardscape.
